“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth
out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the
nations. Then said I, Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak: for I am a
child. But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go
to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt
speak.” Jeremiah 1:5-7
Reverend Tracey Y. Odum has been a
member of the North Stelton A.M.E. Church, Piscataway, NJ since 1979; at the
young age of 14, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Reverend Tracey faithfully serves the Lord
in the ministry of Praise & Worship as the Praise Team Leader. It is her
desire to minister to God through Private; as well as Public Praise &
Worship. Because Reverend Tracey believes that it is not so much about the
quantity of the time spent but it is the quality of the time spent; her
desire to please God has grown tremendously. The Lord has given her a
special impartation & understanding of what it means to worship him in
spirit and in truth which causes her to yield to the Spirit of God allowing
Him to pour into her a yearning for Rhema praise resulting her to write
songs to not only minister to His people, but to bring glory to His name.
In addition to leading the people of God in praise & worship, the Lord has
deposited the ministry of intercessory prayer giving her the ability to
touch the heart of God lifting up that which is dear to Him, whether it be
salvation for the lost, healing for the sick, deliverance for those who need
to be set free.
In
January 2003 Tracey accepted the call to preach the unchanging Word of God.
On September 21, 2003, Tracey preached her Trial Sermon titled “A Call to
Reveal, Repent & Return”. In October 2003 the Lord began preparing Tracey
for ministry by admitting her in the Admission Class at the Ministerial
Institute of the A.M.E. Church New Jersey Annual Conference. On March 25,
2006, The Lord blessed Reverend Tracey with her first ordination, she was
consecrated as a Local Deacon in the A.M.E. Church by the Presiding Prelate
of the 1st Episcopal District – The Right Reverend Richard
Franklin Norris. Reverend Tracey is currently in her 3rd Year
Studies at the Ministerial Institute of the A.M.E. Church New Jersey Annual
Conference.
Reverend
Tracey currently works as an Administrative Assistant in the North Stelton
A.M.E. Church Administrative Offices. She currently serves on the
Ministerial Staff, she serves as the Praise Team Leader & Advisor to the
Praise & Worship Team, Director of the Singles’ Ministry, Overseer of the
Prayer Hotline under the leadership of her Pastor, Rev. Dr. Kenneth L.
Saunders, Sr. She looks forward to greater things the Lord will do in the
midst of her. For truly, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered
into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love
Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9.
