God’s Plans Require
Prayer, Preparation and Purpose !!!
““So built we the wall and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work ”
– Nehemiah 4:6

It is amazing that people will pay thousands of dollars to attend seminars hoping that they can learn how to become effective leaders; when all they have to do is read God’s Word (and attend our Sunday sessionsJ).
Our lesson this week in Nehemiah Chapter 4 continued our study on godly leadership. The text pointed out that an effective leader understands that there are 3 components in successful implementation of Godly planning…Prayer, Preparation and Purpose.
In previous lessons and this one as well Nehemiah demonstrates that PRAYER is at the foundation of godly leadership and enabled the God’s vision for him to be understood.
We saw that effective leaders need to spend as much attention to PREPARATION as they do seeking getting the vision. We noticed a component of Nehemiah success was that he had established plans to get everyone (merchants, clergy politicians, men, women and adults and youth) take ownership and become involved with the rebuilding project.
The Bible text also showed that effective leaders need to maintain a sense of PURPOSE when implementing a project. God’s people can expect to face opposition from no matter how great the merit of a project simply because it is project that brings glory to God. Our society has not changed in this regard than in Nehemiah’s day. Opposition will pose serious challenges, intimidations, and distraction all designed destroy confidence and take you off the course that God intends for you . Understanding that there is purpose in any plans God gives you will enable you to weather the storm of opposition and stay on track.
